    • There appears to be some disagreement as to the birth and death dates for Stephen Pratt. In his Revolutionary War pension file, both 13 FEB 1762 and 17 DEC 1764 are found on various documents and letters. Evidence submitted with his pension application would indicate that the 17 DEC 1764 date is probably the correct one.

      As for his death date, both 03 AUG 1854 and 17 AUG 1854 are found in the pension file with the latter also appearing on his tombstone. The tombstone appears to be a recent replacement of the original. On 23 MAY 1917 the Hannah McIntosh Cady chapter marked Stephen's grave as a Revolutionary Soldier. They recorded his death date as 03 AUG 1854. Stephen's wife Rhoda also gave his death date as 03 AUG 1854 which is probably the correct date.
