  • A New Jersey death record for Sarah Stratton's son James gives her maiden name as Howell. This record disagrees with many other sources giving her name as Stratton. The use of Stratton as a middle name for Sarah's descendants support her being Sarah Stratton. Also, although her son James's death is recorded in the New Jersey death records, he is known to have died at his home in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
