  • The marriage record in the Preston vital records for Jonathan Brewster and Zipporah Smith gives their wedding date as 28 AUG 1755. This is 6 months after the birth of their first child Elisha. The Brewster Genealogy (1907) by Emma Jones cites a family record giving the wedding date as 26 AUG 1754. Given the birth of Elisha, it seems more likely that the family record has the correct date.
