Elizabeth (Bassett) Proctor was accused of witchcraft in 1692. Her husband John Proctor was also accused of witchcraft shortly after. Both were convicted and sentenced to die during the Salem Witch Trials. However, Elizabeth was pregnant and had her sentence postponed until after the baby was born. John was hanged on 19 AUG 1692. Elizabeth was eventually given a reprieve and was not executed.
