    The Marlborough vital records give the name of Phinehas Rice's mother as Martha Rice. This appears to be a mistake as Phinehas Rice's father Joseph Rice had married Sarah Prescott by then, his wife Martha having been deceased by the time Phinehas was born.

    The published Grafton vital records incorrectly give the death year for Phinehas Rice as 1763. This is an apparent transcription error as other source show that he actually died in in 1768.
