William Herschel Cobb was shot and killed by his wife when she mistook him for an intruder. One night he left home by buggy. He later doubled back and climbed through a window into his wife's bedroom. The reason that was given for him doing this was that he suspected his wife of being unfaithful and thought he would catch her in the act.
