Hannah Williams's given name is also seen as Hanna and Anna.
The History and Genealogies of Ancient Windsor, Connecticut by Henry Stiles gives a death date of 1652 citing “O. C. R.” (i.e. Old Church Records). The Matthew Grant Record Usually Called the Old Church Record, 1639-1681 lists the marriage of John Williams and Mary Burlly along with the births of their children. The birth listing for daughter “Hanna” lists her birth as “Aprell . 13 . 1651.” At the end of Hanna's entry is the word “Dead” written in black ink, but there is no death date indicated. It appears that this word is what led Stiles to deduce a death date of 1652. Matthew Grant's records give no indication what the date of Hanna's death was. The most likely scenario is that Hanna, daughter of John and Mary (Burlly) Williams was the one who married Nathaniel Bancroft at Windsor in 1677. The marriage, having been performed by Capt. Newberry, gives Hanna's father as John Williams.
