    Some published sources give John Penn's birth date as 17 MAY 1741, however a tombstone erected by the D.A.R. over his original grave give it as 06 MAY 1740. The latter date comes from a family bible that once belonged to John Taylor (18 NOV 1696 - 22 MAR 1780).
