Elizabeth Willson is claimed to be the daughter of Samuel Willson and Esther Overton. However, no evidence has been found to support this. Esther (Overton) Willson would have been about 48 years old when she allegedly gave birth to Elizabeth. Also similar claims have been made that an Elizabeth Willson who married Nathaniel Dunham was the daughter of Samuel Willson and Esther Overton. Both claims cannot be true as the this Elizabeth was married to Samuel Carpenter at the time. Finally, published genealogies give only 8 children for Samuel Willson and Esther Overton with none named Elizabeth and the last child Gabriel being born in 1725.
However, due to Elizabeth Willson and her husband Samuel Carpenter having a daughter Rachel who married a Lundy, and the fact that Samuel Willson and Esther Overton had four children, one son and three daughters, who married Lundys, there is a strong circumstantial case that this Elizabeth is somehow related to Samuel Willson and Esther Overton. More research is needed to determine the correct parentage for Elizabeth Willson.
