    • Notes:
    • Nathan King's surname is also seen as Brannum and Branham.

Jacob Brannam is probably the father of Nathan King (aka Brannum) as the two of them are living next door to one another at Eatonton, Putnam County, Georgia, in 1870.

Although Nathan King's connection to Martin Luther King Jr. has appeared in various publications and on the internet in recent years, it appears that Michael Meggison was the first to bring to light the fact that Nathan King and Nathan Brannum/Branham were one and the same when he shared this information with William Reitwiesner who posted it on his website wargs.com sometime around 2007.
