Revolutionary War and War of 1812 veteran
Caleb Hopkinson served under General Winfield Scott and was taken prisoner at the Battle of Lundy's Lane in Canada, and held at Quebec, until by the aid of a Free Mason, of which order he was a member, he made his escape and arrived home badly frostbitten.
