    • Just prior to the start of World War II, Philip Kellerman was the propietor of the Bergstrom Music Co. in Honolulu, Hawaii, and living at the Pacific Club. His son Philip Jr worked for him as a musical equipment salesman. Previously, Philip worked in Greeley, Colorado, running the Knight-Campbell Music Company.

      In 1946, Philip Kellerman Sr. and his son Philip Kellerman Jr were among two naval officers and ten civilians who were indicted on charges of conspiracy to defraud the government of tens of thousands of dollars during the war through irregular business transactions. The indictments charged they siphoned heav profits from the naval cantonment area and the submarine base ship's service store at Pearl Harbor.
