Who is Taylor Swift?
Taylor Swift is an American country music singer and song-writer born on December 13, 1989, in Pennsylvania. She is said to be the youngest song-writer ever hired by the Sony/ATV publishing house and in 2008 she received a Best New Artist nomination at the Grammy Awards for her first album. At the 2010 Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift's second album Fearless won the Album of the Year award making her the youngest ever to receive that award. The album was also the first in history to receive the American Music Award, Academy of Country Music Award, Country Music Association Award, and Grammy Award for Album of the Year in the same year. She has also added acting to her resume with appearances in both movies and television episodes.
Taylor Swift has a number of famous kin. One of the more interesting is fellow singer Bing Crosby. Bing is one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century with over a half a billion records in circulation. Taylor Swift is also a direct descendant of Mayflower passenger Richard Warren and has a number of presidential kin including Ulysses S. Grant and Franklin D. Roosevelt. She has connections to the Old West through her kinship to Wild Bill Hickok and Laura Ingalls-Wilder.
