- Notes:
Claims that Nancy Miles was born in Vermont and is the daughter of Timothy and Theoda (Blodgett) Miles appears to be false. It is almost certain that Nancy Miles and her husband James Stevens were natives of Kentucky. In the past, this parentage appears to have been accepted by the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) based on a Stevens and Tripp genealogy published by Mary Stevens Ghastin in 1906. This genealogy should not be relied upon as it contains many errors easily disproved using primary records.
