Prolific Mayflower Descendant
In 1913, Mary Winthrop Gooding was a clerk in the registry of probate at Plymouth, Massachusetts. She sent in her first application to join the Mayflower Society in June of 1911 documenting a descent from Gov. William Bradford. Just over one year later in August 1912, Mary followed that initial application with the submission of an astounding thirty six supplemental applications documenting additional descents. FamousKin.com has identified an additional four descents bringing the total to forty!
These forty descents are from John Alden (9 lines), Isaac Allerton (1 line), William Bradford (3 lines), William Brewster (4 lines), James Chilton (1 line), Thomas Rogers (3 lines), Henry Samson (3 lines), George Soule (1 line), Myles Standish (5 lines), and Richard Warren (10 lines).
