    Not all sources agree that the Richard Sears who married Susan Gilbert was the son of Richard and Sarah (Bumpas) Sears. This parentage was taken from Daughters of the American Revolution membership applications for Katherine (Lumry) Wilson and Elsie H. Fletcher. It is interesting to note that Richard and Susan (Gilbert) Sears had daughters named Celia and Charity as did Richard and Sarah (Bumpas) Sears.
