      Susan Gilbert was not the daughter of Cornelius and Martha (Brown) Gilbert as is claimed in Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Vol. 16, Part 16, p. 249. That Susan Gilbert married Ira Sampson in 1821 and died in 1832. Her parents are named in her marriage record.
