  • U.S. federal census records provide circumstantial evidence for David Kimble being the son of Benjamin Kimble and Vesta Holcomb. Thanks to Terry Olson for bringing this evidence to our attention.

    David Kimble married in Guernsey County, Ohio, in 1834. The 1830 federal census for Monroe, Guernsey County, Ohio contains the family of Benjamin Kimble. David was about 25 years old at the time and the census record includes a son in that age range.

    Benjamin Kimble and family are found in Clark, Brown County, Ohio in 1820. At least two sons are in the proper age range of under 15 for David.

    David is known to have been born in New York. Benjamin is found in Riga, Genesee County, New York, in the 1810 federal census. David would have been about 5 years old and the census shows three males under the age of 10 in the family.
