- Notes:
George Edward Day's A Genealogical Register of the Descendants in the Male Line of Robert Day (p. 68) states that the wife of Gideon Curtis is a daughter of Aaron and Mary Day of Spencertown, New York. However, George Day's listing does not list the names for all of the children of Aaron and Mary Day. He also lists a daughter named Lucia, a sister of Ruth, as having been baptized on 28 MAR 1742. Since Aaron Day was born at Colchester, Connecticut, in 1740, this is not possible. However, a more reliable genealogy presented by Homer Brainard in the New York Genealogical and Biographical Record (1903, Vol. 34, p. 20) states that Aaron Day married an Abigail Cahoon, daughter of John Cahoon and Grace Fuller. A deed of sale regarding land from the estate of Abigail's uncle Isaac Fuller shows that she was married to Aaron Day prior to 21 JUN 1776. It would seem that Abigail Cahoon is the actual mother of Ruth Day.
